I
come across various advertisements everyday. I see
flyers, billboards, newspapers and internet flooded with advertisements. These are a great
marketing tactic to
lure customers. Sometimes I find advertisements very
amusing and
entertaining. The advertisement I clearly remember right now is of a beauty cream. Today, I was watching a video on Youtube and an advertisment of "Fair and Lovely" beauty cream
popped up. It features actress Yami Gautam holding a tube of the cream. She is
surrounded by girls who are asking her about the secret of her glowing skin and she smilingly
hands them over the cream. All the girls apply the cream and their skin tone brightens up and it is compared to the moonlit glow. All of those girls start getting boys' attention and have got jobs because of their
flawless skin. I found this advertisement
hilarious because just by applying a cream, one cannot get perfect skin and also skin colour has no direct connection to one's successful career and love life. I think the advertisers should make
realistic and sensible advertisements as these kind of ads mislead the youth.
